Take Care of Your Mat

Friday, 30 January 2009 13:59 by ronnie
In Acts 9:34 Peter makes a remarkable statement that is easy to just read over.  In speaking to the cripppled, Peter said, "Jesus...heals you.  Get up and take care of your mat."  Living the Christ life everyday is learning to master the art of becoming.  We have truly been given all things, but it becomes our responsibility, with His strength to take care of our mat.  The mat in this story represented this man's life, it was what he was dependent on...what made him comfortable.  All of us have a mat that we take care of. It may be an addiction, a dependency on something or someone. It can even be unforgiveness that we honestly do not know how to live without.  What you and I must learn, is when we sign up to follow Jesus, we allow Him to make us become what He wants us to be.  What is it that you think you cannot live without?  Let it go!  My prayer is God give me the strength, courage and self control to take care of the issues, and hang ups, that keep me from becoming everything that You want me to be.  Today "Get up and take care of your mat."

Pause Often...

Thursday, 29 January 2009 06:29 by ronnie
Psalm 136 is a reminder to us all that life can get busy.  Isn't it amazing that David can't finish a sentence without pausing and saying of God, "your steadfast love endures forever."  Every detail in life is a reminder of His goodness; every moment is a gift.  I believe that every day is a sentence that we write, the question is how often are we pausing to remember His absolutely radical love for us.  He is everywhere doing His incredible work around me and in me.  Today pause often and realize that His love never ceases. Say it..."Your steadfast love endures forever."
